Commercial (HGV) Parts Advisor
Tranzparts Group Limited based at Walton Summit, Preston are seeking a parts advisor to work in our busy Preston depot answering the phones to our account customers and helping them find the parts they need for their heavy goods vehicles.
*Candidates must have knowledge or previous experience of the heavy goods parts sector*
With over 40 years commercial vehicle parts experience, and four depots across Lancashire our team have the expertise to deliver the correct product at the right price whilst still providing exceptional customer service.
We supply vehicle parts for all makes of Commercial Vehicles, Truck, Trailer and PSV. We have a vacancy for an experienced Parts Advisor with a proven background in the automotive industry to join our team
Main Duties of Parts Advisor
- Process all customer orders accurately and supplier returns efficiently
- Optimising the sale of all Parts and Accessory products to both internal & external customers.
- Picking parts for customer orders and checking availability of stock from various enquiries.
- Through in-bound and out-bound telephone enquiries, and counter customers, you will be developing customer relationships through providing good product knowledge and creating an effective first impression.
- Invoice preparation and full explanation of the parts to the customer
- Prioritise customer’s orders by urgency and liaise with dispatch, ensuring accurate delivery times
- Ensure all paperwork is updated and recorded correctly on the system
- Ensure all customers are shown the utmost courtesy and consideration
- Assist customer queries with comprehensive knowledge of commercial vehicle parts and components
Requirements of Parts Advisor
- Excellent knowledge of commercial vehicle parts or automotive parts across all makes/brands
- Full Driving Licence
- Good team player with the ability to act on initiative
- Excellent communication with first class customer service skills
- Health and Safety conscious
- Attentive
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, follow up sales leads promptly
- Punctual and reliable with an eye for detail.
Main Duties of Parts Advisor

- You will be required to deal with both front and back counter parts for new and existing customers, which include cash sales and credit account
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- Enthusiasm and a fast learner with excellent people skills
- The ability to learn systems and computerised stock and order management systems
- The desire to win sales in a competitive industry
- A hands-on approach to your work
- Experience with Electronic Parts Systems
- IT skills would be a clear advantage, particularly MAM/ Autopart
- Commercial Vehicle Parts background
- Ambitious with a view to progressing into parts management
